Say what now? Alexa Bliss debuted on the main roster during last year’s WWE Draft and has taken the “Smackdown Live” women’s division by storm. Bliss has won the Smackdown Women’s Title twice since its debut in September and is gearing up to defend it on Sunday at “Wrestlemania XXXIII”. While Bliss is still getting the hang of things in the ring, she has nailed the character and talking. One major question though is how much of that is her.
“I love “Talking Smack”. It is so much fun. We just literally go out there and say whatever we want. Somehow, it’s never planned, but somehow I end up bickering with Daniel Bryan every single time. It’s a lot of fun and it does so much for everyone’s character to really show what we can’t portray in the ring whether it’s time, whether it’s having a match with no speaking parts. It’s that moment that really can help define who you are in the ring and I love being on Talking Smack because it’s fun to literally go out there and talk smack.”

Opinion: I knew there was something I liked about “Talking Smack”. There’s something about a natural promo that shows off your real self that you can’t replicate with a script. The key to the whole idea is that no one should know their character better than you. When you have a batch of writers being assigned to cover so many wrestlers, it’s virtually impossible to know all the details about every single one. Let the wrestlers talk a bit more freely. If they can’t do it then don’t let them anymore, but if they can, go with it.
