Both these guys! Shinsuke Nakamura debuted last year at NXT “Takeover: Dallas” and quickly became one of the most popular wrestlers on the roster. He’s dominated the NXT brand and became a two time NXT Champion in less than a year. Now the question is when does he join the main roster. It turns out that Nakamura has an idea and an opponent in mind.

During a recent conference call with Yahoo Sports Japan, Nakamura says he would like to face AJ Styles at Wrestlemania (translation courtesy of Chris Charlton by way of Wrestlinginc.com):

“It the [WrestleMania] opportunity presented itself, I want to do it,” Nakamura said. “AJ doesn’t have an opponent yet, I’d like to fill that spot. I’ve achieved a lot this year, but there’s much more to do. I want to make more strides over the next year and show my true ability.”

Styles has already responded to Nakamura’s comments.

Opinion: While it might be a big soon for Nakamura to come up to the main roster, this has the potential to be one of the best matches that WWE could put together. They had an outstanding match last year at “Wrestle Kingdom X” and I have full confidence that they could do the exact same thing if they were given the chance on the grandest stage of them all.
