She has a take. A wrestler’s name can change their career in a variety of ways, either positive or negative. If the wrestler’s name is right, it can be a great first foot in the door. If the name is wrong though, it can cause quite a few problems. A former WWE star is now telling a story about how he tried to change his not so great name but got shot down by a WWE higher up.

Former WWE star Tank Toland, also known by his WWE ring name of James Dick, was a guest on the Cheap Heat Productions podcast and talked about trying to get his ring name changed. Toland was part of a tag team with James Dick as The Dicks and tried to get the name changed to The Dix, only to be shot down by Stephanie McMahon, who insisted that the spelling be correct. The team only wrestled on WWE television from November 2005 until February 2006.

Opinion: This is the kind of thing that doesn’t surprise me from WWE as they have a tendency to want to stick with their original ideas rather than changing much of anything. At the end of the day, a team with this name is not going to have any kind of a future and Toland seemed to know this. It was a waste of some talented people, but maybe that is the only way WWE thought they had a future.
