Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has officially revealed his ratings for NXT ‘TakeOver: Philadelphia‘ and Tomasso Ciampa has since responded, joking about a 5-star rating received by one of the matches.

The ratings Meltzer gave for the pay-per-view as a whole are the following:

  • Undisputed Era vs. Authors of Pain= 3.5 Stars
  • Velveteen Dream vs. Kassius Ohno= 2.75 Stars
  • Ember Moon vs. Shayna Baszler= 2.75 Stars
  • Aleister Black vs. Adam Cole= 4.25 Stars
  • Andrade ‘Cien’ Almas vs. Johnny Gargano= 5 Stars

This is significant as the last 5-star rating Meltzer gave to a WWE match was back in 2011 when CM Punk defeated John Cena at ‘Money In The Bank.’

Many fans over social media have been quick to point out that Meltzer denied 5-star ratings to recent classics such as The Revival vs. #DIY, Bayley vs. Sasha Banks and Pete Dunne vs. Tyler Bate.

With his usual cryptic nature, Ciampa tweeted his response to Meltzer’s rating, sharing a photo of his attack on Gargano as Candice LeRae reacts. He adds the five stars as the only characters in the tweet. Check it out below.

  • AJ Styles vs. Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn= 3.5 Stars
  • The Usos vs. Shelton Benjamin & Chad Gable= 3 Stars
