During the NJPW ‘New Year Dash’ show, Kenny Omega attempted to recruit a star from the company to the Bullet Club… but things didn’t go to plan.

During the show, five members of the Bullet Club competed in a 5-on-5 tag team match. Afterwards, Cody attempted to attack his ‘Wrestle Kingdom 12‘ opponent in Kota Ibushi with a Steel Chair but Omega dashed to the ring to make the save for Ibushi.

Cody and Omega pushed one another back and forth as members of the Bullet Club attempted to intervene. This led to Cody exiting the ring and walking backstage with the remainder of the Bullet Club, leaving Omega in the ring.

Omega explained to the audience that he is sick of the in-fighting between the members of the Bullet Club and it was time to make a change – something to fix things.

Omega’s solution was to bring in a new member of the Bullet Club. The IWGP United States Champion called out “Switchblade” Jay White, who came up short against Hiroshi Tanahashi at ‘Wrestle Kingdom 12’ for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship.

White came to the ring with mixed expressions from concern to confusion. Omega said White has potential and sees White as a 2015 version of himself.

Omega handed White the official Bullet Club t-shirt. White teased putting it on, eventually doing so. He raised his hand for the “too sweet” in the style that led to The Young Bucks getting the cease and desist letter from WWE. Omega stopped him, instead optioning for a hug.

Once the two broke the hug and Omega raised White’s hand, White did his signature ‘Switchblade’ taunt and hit the Blade Runner (His finisher, same as a Sister Abigail by Bray Wyatt).

As the Bullet Club hit the ring to make the save, White ran away, removing the shirt. He did the ‘Switchblade’ taunt again and threw the shirt towards the ring, leaving the arena.

He didn’t join the Bullet Club.
