WWE have now confirmed via their official website and YouTube channel what the first team will be for ‘Smackdown Live’ heading into the ‘WWE Mixed Match Challenge.’

Following the first ‘Raw’ team’s reveal for the challenge, ‘Smackdown Live’ was quick to respond with the ‘Glorious’ Bobby Roode’s partner. It was revealed to be WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair.

WWE had the following to say about the dream pairing:

“Since emerging in WWE, Charlotte Flair has surpassed every expectation, proving her genetic superiority as the daughter of two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair by competing in ground-breaking matches and laying claim to four Raw Women’s Championships, a Divas Championship and now the SmackDown Women’s Title. She‘s the perfect partner for the up-and-coming Roode, a Superstar whose dynamic personality, obvious skill and confident demeanor promise to bring him greatness on the blue brand and beyond.”

Byron Saxton had the opportunity to interview Roode before he found out through Daniel Bryan that Charlotte was his partner. Hear what he had to say in anticipation for the announcement below.

Joking about the “Woo!” chant, the two assured one another that they were comfortable and happy with the pairing. They intend on getting matching robes and go on to win the ‘Mixed Match Challenge.’
