The WWE Championship is arguably the biggest prize in the company, given its extensive history. Yet WWE chooses to focus on other Championships or feuds often over the title feud itself.
There are many ongoing theories as to why the Championship is overlooked. Many believe this is simply because Raw is a larger show than SmackDown and their stars are the ones who should the main event.
Another thought to consider is that WWE doesn’t want to end another PPV with a screwy ending and the Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles feud has a lot of these.
The Miz had the following to say on the WWE Championship not main eventing PPVs:
“My goal is to make the WWE championship as relevant and prestigious as it should be. Do I think AJ Styles is doing a terrific job as WWE champion? Absolutely.
But that WWE championship should be in the main event of every single WWE pay per view. It upsets me when I see that it is not.
My goal is to not only win the Money in the Bank contract, cash it in and become WWE champion. I want to put that title back where it belongs: the main event.”
What are your thoughts on what The Miz had to say? Do you agree with him?
