According to Give Me Sports, by way of Dirty Sheets, McMahon has now canceled a concert for Elias and The Rock as WWE have been unable to secure and lock The Rock in for an appearance due to his extensive schedule.
The original segment was to feature Elias singing to the ‘WrestleMania’ crowd, with several names coming out to sing. These names, in theory, were supposed to be Jeff Jarrett, who is being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, Michael Hayes, and the Honky Tonk Man.
To end the segment, The Rock would come down and sing a song. This would most likely result in a beatdown for Elias as the crowd chants for Rock.
McMahon had the idea of replacing The Rock with Shawn Michaels as he began to realize it wasn’t possible to secure the movie star but ultimately scrapped the entire segment because he didn’t feel it had enough star power to take up a portion of the ‘WrestleMania’ time slot.
There is every chance that Elias is still on the card at ‘WrestleMania,’ as McMahon may still have him team with Braun Strowman to face The Bar for the Raw Tag Team Championship, but that is still unconfirmed at this time.
Elias and Strowman have a clear history, evident through their Symphony of Destruction match on ‘Raw’ from a few weeks back.
Wish would you rather Elias be involved in, if you could decide? Are you upset this is likely not happening?
