Jerry “The King” Lawler has revealed that he now has a beer created in his name, as shown in the article header. Kevin Cerrito of the Memphis Flyer reported many of the details.

Lawler has been in the news recently after revealing his stroke just weeks before WrestleMania 34, mentioning later how it happened. Now we have an incredibly interesting story on what is happening with him now.

The Memphis-based Meddlesome Brewing Company recently contacted Lawler to get his approval to create the beverage using his name and likeness. Lawler had the following to say on being contacted by the brewery:

“A while back I was contacted by someone from the brewery who explained to me they make beers with names that are familiar with Memphis. One was 201 Hoplar and they had the idea to do a Jerry ‘The King’ Lager. I thought it sounded fun, so I gave them the go-ahead to use my name.”

Would Lawler taste his beer:

Lawler has never had any alcohol in his entire life, despite having this drink named after him and the Jerry Lawler’s Hall of Fame Bar & Grille, He was asked if he’d be willing to end his 68 years of sobriety to taste the beer named after him, to which Lawler replied:

“I’ve never tasted beer, wine, or whiskey in my life and I’m not going to start just because one’s named after me.”

Beginning on Wednesday, the lager will be available on tap. It is located just a two-minute drive from the Jerry Lawler Memphis BBQ Company.

While you’re unable to purchase the Meddlesome beers in stores yet, the taproom will offer the beer “to go” in 32-ounce cans and 64-ounce growlers.

Below we have included a section of audio from Dinner With The King where Lawler discusses why Roman Reigns lost to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34.

Would you drink the lager? Which Superstars do you feel should have beverages in their names?
