Ford is reportedly suing Cena for selling his 2017 Ford GT, which was worth $500, 000. This is due to it violating a contract Cena had with the company.
Cena was chosen from thousands of applicants to purchase the vehicle, in the process agreeing to keep the car for a minimum of two years before he could sell it. Incidentally, Ford only initially made 500 of these cars.
In a statement, Ford claimed:
“Mr. Cena has unfairly made a large profit from the unauthorized resale flip of the vehicle, and Ford has suffered additional damages and losses, including, but not limited to, loss of brand value, ambassador activity, and customer goodwill due to the improper sale.”
The suit claims that Cena did tell the company he sold the car alongside other property for financial reasons. Despite this, Ford is looking for Cena to return profits from the sale, complete with other damages.
Wrestling Rumors will continue to keep you updated on this developing story and we do hope that the lawsuit is resolved amicably as soon as possible.
If you would like to see Cena talking about a Ford car, we have you covered. For his ‘Auto Geek’ segment on The Bella Twins’ YouTube channel, Cena discussed one of his Ford cars at great length.
Who do you believe will come out on top in the lawsuit? Should the company be suing Cena to begin with?
