In four days, Roman Reigns will be in his second straight Wrestlemania main event against Triple H. This time; he’ll likely be winning the WWE Championship.
That sounds and looks like a great success on paper, but Reigns is most likely going to be booed out of AT&T Stadium by over one-hundred thousand people when he’s supposed to be the babyface of the match.
There has also been a report that WWE’s continuous push is beginning to be a problem in the locker room. Despite all of that, Roman’s push is continuing for one very specific reason that has finally been revealed.
According to the Wrestling Observer, there is a new marketability study that has Reigns ranked very high and that is the main reason WWE continues to push him as a babyface despite a lot of criticism.
On this new study, Reigns ranked fourth on the roster in marketability behind John Cena, Undertaker, and Brock Lesnar. However, other superstars varied on performance.
For example, AJ Styles did very well on the list, which is surprising considering how long he’s been with the company. As a performer, that shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Dean Ambrose also did very well in the survey, but he was behind other names that were mentioned above. Kevin Owens did not post well on paper at all, which is definitely a surprise.
The report also noted that the top five selling shirts from a major retailer are: John Cena, Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose.
Do you think WWE is right to ignore fan reactions based on the following numbers?
