Baron Corbin: “Football Was My Ticket to WWE”

On Friday night, Baron Corbin will face Austin Aries in the latter’s debut at NXT Takeover: Dallas in what will likely be an underrated match on the stacked card.

Recently, “The Lone Wolf of NXT” did an interview with CBS Pittsburgh to promote the event and gave his opinion on several different topics going into the biggest Takeover in NXT history.

How did he transition from football to WWE?

“For me, that was all my ticket to get here to the WWE. That’s what I wanted to do since I was little and going to shows with my dad. So, that was my window. That was my opportunity. That’s what helped me get here.”

How do you explain the heat you get from NXT fans?

“It’s just my attitude. I’m gonna do what I want when I want to do it, and if people don’t like it they can either change their mind or deal with it.”

What do you think about getting to work with top NXT talent?

“I’m getting opportunities to get in there and tangle it up with these guys, and of course I learn every single time. I learn what to do, what not to do.”

What do you think about WWE main roster live events?

“I’m seeing some main roster loops…and working with those guys. It’s just making me better and tailoring me into the superstar that I aim to be.”
