Jake “The Snake” Roberts and Scott Hall, as Razor Ramon, were both elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. The two displayed phenomenal turnarounds from past demons, and impressed many at the ceremony. As The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports, this may be in large part due to WWE involvement.
According to the report, WWE has been funneling some money towards Diamond Dallas Page, who has been assisting the two, to ensure the men stay out of trouble. The company has been paying for additional personnel experienced with rehab to aid Hall and Roberts, who reportedly still suffer through their demons despite the progress they’ve made.
Roberts, who has been working with Bray Wyatt in giving him character and psychology advice lately, was recently invited to a strip club after an indie show by the other wrestlers. Dave Meltzer reports Roberts respectfully declined the invitation, knowing what it could eventually lead to.
Regarding Hall, WWE is also offering assistance to his son Cody. Cody has been working the independent circuit for about a year now, with his father in tow. The organization has offered the young Hall a developmental contract several times, but he has declined the deal in order to establish himself on his own.
Editor’s Note
It’s not surprising to see WWE reaching out, as the company has a history of doing so. Regarding Hall and Roberts though, it is very clear the company has a soft spot for them, especially with Triple H getting a bigger role in the company. Both have come a long way, and hopefully they can continue to stay clean.
