In the past, WWE Magazine has let things slip and revealed details about upcoming storylines or returns. It appears that this may have happened again, and this time, it is regarding former Undisputed Champion Chris Jericho.
The June 2014 edition of WWE Magazine takes a look at the Money in the Bank briefcase, and previews the “Money in the Bank” pay-per-view on June 29.
Inside the publication is a piece on WWE Superstars who have competed in multiple Money in the Bank matches, but have yet to come down with the prize. It mentions Kofi Kingston, Cody Rhodes, Christian and one other, the lead singer of Fozzy himself, Chris Jericho.
It states:
“Already with a Hall of Fame-worthy career, Jericho could use a win at this event to make us forget about some lackluster recent returns to the ring, a contract cash-in would be just the thing he needs to net him a seventh World title also.”
Since it is talking directly about the June 29 pay-per-view, this would be an insinuation that Jericho will be returning to the company. Wrestling Rumors noted earlier in May Jericho had been in discussions with WWE about a return, but certain things in his schedule were getting in the way. They had even contacted him for a WrestleMania run, but he felt there were no good ideas for him.
Jericho fought his last pay-per-view match at least year’s “Money in the Bank,” losing to Ryback.
Editor’s Note:
With Daniel Bryan potentially on the shelf and CM Punk gone, Jericho would be good for some star power. He would need to be utilized as a main eventer here though. No more just putting people over for the sake of it. He has star power, and should be used with such.
