“Impact Wrestling” is in the midst of a three-night tour of New York City, as TNA tapes episodes for its recent debut on Destination America. The tapings have had their fare share of ups and downs, and PWInsider has provided an update as to how things have generally been going.
“Impact” debuted Wednesday on a short tape-delay, which ultimately ended up being a blessing in disguise. There was said to have been a lot of downtime at the tapings, and PWInsider has confirmed a technical difficulty as the reason why. It is said the company was using the Manhattan Center’s production equipment, and there was a board malfunction. They ended up getting it to work again, and just as they were ready to resume the tapings, it went down once more.
TNA considered throwing a dark match out to stall the fans, but the crew ultimately got things working again.
Some also complained about the lighting on the show, but that was said to be purposeful. TNA Executive Vice President John Gaburick reportedly made the call on such, as he wanted the focus to be on the competitors in the ring rather than on the crowd or what else was going on.
Those in attendance for Thursday night’s tapings said the lighting was improved a bit.
Editor’s Note
Wednesday’s show was promising, though having read spoilers, I can’t say I’m all too confident about some other things put in motion.
