Earlier this week, Wrestling Rumors noted there has been a fair share of uncertainty regarding the status of TNA Wrestling. A television contract for 2015 has yet to be solidified, and there no “Impact Wrestling” tapings booked in the immediate future.
In an update from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it appears TNA talent are also now in a sticky situation as far as making a living while staying the world of wrestling.
The report states while checks and money have been all caught up on, many of the stars cannot afford to not work while they wait for the next round of tapings. As reported previously, TNA has now put all its focus into live tapings, and is no longer concerned about house shows. For this reason, they are now taking their own independent bookings.
Previously, TNA talent used to have to clear it with management before taking any independent bookings. Now though, with so much uncertainty going forward, the talent have the free will to do so. However, they are still not allowed to make any television appearances or show up on pay-per-view or iPPV.
The company has already taped enough shows to make it past the upcoming “Bound For Glory” pay-per-view, which airs Oct. 12 from Japan.
Editor’s Note
This is something that doesn’t surprise me. The company can’t hold back talent from making a living if it has nothing booked for them.
