The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that Vince McMahon will not allow anyone on “Total Divas” to hold the Divas Championship. According to the report, this has been a rule since the program started and continues to be McMahon’s thought process moving forward.

However, the report claims that this rule could change any minute due to McMahon’s current creative whims, much like The Undertaker’s loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter writes,

“Right now, Vince McMahon has had and still has a rule that nobody from Total Divas can get the Divas title. People have said that privately and Brie Bella let it slip during an interview, and it’s been confirmed to us that as of right now, that’s the rule.

It’s one of those rules that can change tomorrow, and in fact, the person who told us the rule wondered if Vince would at the last minute change his mind and put the belt on Nikki since there is so much focus on Nikki vs. Brie. But instead of the belt, from TV, it looks like they are going with a feud over who has the rights to the Bella last name.”

The report goes on to state that there has been some frustration regarding the show and how the talent featured on it are booked on WWE programming. Apparently, McMahon will want “Monday Night Raw” and “Smackdown” storylines to be synched up with “Total Divas” story lines for the most part. However, he’ll then go through waves where he just doesn’t see that the two different programs matching up is important.

McMahon’s creative control has led to much frustration in the back lately. It’s said that McMahon and Triple H have been at odds due to McMahon’s storyline desires and stranglehold on creative control. A recent example of McMahon exercising his creative muscle would be the Sept. 22 edition of “Monday Night Raw,” where he began re-writing the script just one hour before the show went live, then continued writing it as the program was already live on-the-air.

Editor’s Note:
That explains A LOT. Nattie hasn’t been champion since the show started, Nikki, Brie, none of them. Even when we thought Naomi had a good shot, now we know why she didn’t win it. A little messed up, if you asked me. Wouldn’t you WANT your champion exposed as much as possible?
