Earlier this week at “NXT TakeOver: Unstoppable,” NXT Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and challenger Becky Lynch put on a match heralded nearly unanimously by the entire wrestling community as one of the best female matches in some time. The two worked the longest match on the card, spanning more than 15 minutes, and were given prominent billing just prior to the main event.
The two posted pictures after the match of them hugging Triple H, the man behind the operations down in NXT.
Former WWE Diva and current TNA Knockout Gail Kim then took to social media to give her thoughts on the match and take a shot at WWE chairman Vince McMahon.

Kim got her first big gig with WWE, then headed over to TNA in the mid-2000s. She would return to WWE later on, and be largely unhappy with the booking of women in the company. An an infamous incident, she threw herself out of a battle royal unplanned as a statement to WWE official she would be leaving the organization, expressing her dissatisfaction with the treatment of women.
She would then return to TNA, where she has worked several high-profile programs, namely with Taryn Terell, another former WWE Diva.
It was recently revealed some WWE officials, namely Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, are attempting to start a movement towards giving female wrestlers more limelight. They are said to be big fans of the NXT Divas division, which is why Banks and Lynch were given such prominent billing.
Another example of such was Banks and Charlotte headlining a recent NXT live event, which was universally praised for its quality as well.
Editor’s Note
Some sour grapes from Kim, but at the same time, she has a point. Hopefully Triple H and his regime will bring some major changes to the Divas division going forward and establish credibility.
