As noted in the recent “Friday Night Smackdown” spoilers, it has been revealed WWE will be bringing the WWE Network to the United Kingdom relatively soon. A new report has provided a little more detail to that announcement.
Justin LaBar of WrestleZone is reporting the UK is likely to be getting the WWE Network this upcoming summer, rather than at the end of the calendar year as planned. LaBar says the pushing forward of the launch date is in part due to the solving of technical issues with streams and the urgency created by the recent stock trouble the company has been facing.
More specifically, Labar says the launch will be integrated with the “SummerSlam” pay-per-view, which will be held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif. on Aug. 17. Sources told them that WWE is considering two options for launching.
The first would be to put it out on the actual weekend of the event, tying in the promotion with the show. However, the other option is to launch it a few weeks prior, to allow people more time to sign up.
The company noted in its investors conference call on Monday the expansion of the network would help in making up lost income.

Editor’s Note:
A launch prior to the show would by far be the most logical answer for WWE. It would allow the UK fans to sign up, and I do genuinely believe there will be a lot who would be interested in making the purchase. However, it is imperative the stream issues are figured out.
