It’s been a polarizing 2015 for Damien Sandow. The man without a gimmick started the year alongside The Miz, earning major babyface status as he served as the stunt-double the WWE Universe quickly fell in love with. His major moment would come at WrestleMania, when during the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, he tossed out his former partner and almost pulled off a major upset against The Big Show.
After this, Sandow cut a heartfelt promo where he rallied the fans behind him and thanked them for all their support, a moment which was ultimately met with little enthusiasm from the dead crowd.
Sandow would then turn his efforts towards becoming a “Macho Man” Randy Savage tribute act, dubbing himself “Macho Mandow” and teaming alongside Curtis Axel to form a new version of the Mega Powers. This, however, was dropped once Hulk Hogan and WWE parted ways following the surfacing of racist remarks he made several years ago.
But now, one of wrestling’s biggest names and a WWE Hall of Famer is coming out in support of Sandow, hoping to garner support to make Aug. 3 “Sandow Appreciation Day.”
Mick Foley took to his Twitter this week with the following:

Sandow, who many have noted in the past is a lifelong wrestling buff, took kindly to the words Foley expressed and responded. It was that point Foley furthered his sign of appreciation:

Words of Foley’s efforts quickly spread around social media, with many members of the WWE Universe promising to get on board with the movement. Because of such, Sandow took to his profile once more to thank the fans for all of their efforts:

It is unsure at this time if there will be any WWE incorporation with the hashtag, as WWE loves to promote Twitter but this is not something organically produced by the company.
