Jim Ross Discusses Pat Patterson, Dolph Ziggler’s Booking, Adam Rose

Former voice of “Monday Night Raw” Jim Ross took to the Q&A section of his blog this past week to answer several questions regarding the wrestling industry. Below are some of the highlights from the past several days.

On what role Pat Patterson has played during his tenure in WWE:

“For the lack of a better term Pat has been like an assistant head coach in WWE and has a brilliant mind for ring psychology and finishes especially in big bouts. Pat understand basic fundamentals as well as anyone I’ve been around. He is missed re: the day to day.”

One reader then stated they felt Dolph Ziggler had a disconnect with younger audiences, to which Ross responded:

“I don’t sense a disconnect but I respect your opinion. Ziggler gets on a roll and his world changes quickly for the better. I don’t know why that hasn’t occurred. It’s rather obvious to me that Dolph Ziggler is one of the most under utilized WWE talents in recent years.”

Another fan also brought up what WWE has been doing with Alicia Fox and Adam Rose. As noted earlier, Ross has stated already he is a big fan of what WWE is doing with Fox’s character. Regarding them both:

“I get and have enjoyed the Alicia Fox creative but I haven’t related to the Adam Rose business but hope that he is successful. He can wrestle.”

I never really fully understand Patterson’s role as a kid, but I’ve grown a lot of appreciation for what he has done over the years. Seems that Ross echoes that sentiment.
