It was reported on Thursday WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts passed out on an airplane and fell unconscious as he was taken to the hospital. PWInsider has provided an update on his health at this point.
At last check, Roberts was “fading in and out” of consciousness. Diamond Dallas Page, Roberts’ close friend, asked fans to keep him in their prayers though, as it appeared to be a long battle. However, a late night report from the outlet says Roberts is now “awake” and is communicating with the people who are at his side.
Roberts was en route to the Freak Wrestling Show in Las Vegas, scheduled for Friday. Upon getting him hospitalized, doctors diagnosed him with double pneumonia, and simultaneously found a mass in his brain. Sinn Bodhi noted he has been diagnosed with the flu recently, but the pain and sickness did not subside.
The 59-year-old recently overcame a form of cancer in his leg, and had been showing signs of improvement. Still, WWE had its eyes on both him and fellow Hall of Famer, Scott Halll, to ensure their returns to sobriety were going well.
Editor’s Note
Best wishes to Jake as he hopefully recovers from this latest setback. I had a chance to meet him in New Orleans after WrestleMania, and he was a great guy who had no issues cracking a joke.
