On the Aug. 28 edition of “NXT,” former WWE Intercontinental Champion William Regal was named the brand’s third-ever general manager. Regal had previously done commentary for the brand and its predecessor, FCW.

In a video with WWE.com, Regal discussed the new main event for “NXT Takeover 2,” which will see Adrian Neville take on Tyler Breeze, Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd all at once for the NXT Championship:

“I’m on my first night on the job as general manager of NXT, and I was presented Christmas and all my birthdays rolled into one. I had what I thought was a great idea for the main event, and then Adrian Neville does all my work for me and comes up with a main event that is beyond compare. I’m excited myself and I know everyone in NXT is excited, so the NXT Universe is gonna be thrilled by the main event at ‘Takeover.'”

“NXT Takeover 2” will be broadcast live on the WWE Network on Sept. 11, for just $9.99.

Editor’s Note

Awesome to see Regal as GM. He will be a natural, great fit. I’m also stoked for this show!
