Former WWE and TNA World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Hardy is one of the last major name stars the latter company still has under contract. But according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there was recently significant concern backstage over his pay-per-view status for October.

This year’s edition of “Bound For Glory,” TNA’s biggest show of the year, broadcasts from Japan. There was reportedly major worrying going on behind the scenes as to whether Hardy would be able to participate in the show, due to his history of legal issues. He has had several run-ins with authority, including a 2009 arrest related to drug charges that ended him in jail for 10 days while under contract with TNA two years later.

One of the primary reasons for concern was that Hardy was unable to travel to the U.K. for TNA’s international tours over there. The 37-year-old has been clean since the aforementioned incident, however.

According to the report, though, it appears he has been cleared for the show. Company officials are said to be no longer concerned, and he will work a program, as laid out by the upcoming “Impact Wrestling” television tapings.

Editor’s Note

Good to hear for Hardy, though let’s see how he is utilized on the show. Sticking him with a Japanese wrestler may put on a heck of a bout.
