Feud Planned Between Cody Rhodes and Goldust

According to PWInsider.com, there is in fact a feud planned between Cody Rhodes and Goldust. The program is expected to get underway shortly.

The two have been teasing a split of their tag team over the past month, as Cody has expressed a great deal of frustration with his brother. Following losses, he has shoved him and waved him off, which has caused friction between the two. He has also expressed hesitation in congratulating his brother on wins, which was showcased last week on “Main Event.”

Interestingly enough, the site reports that this is expected to only be a short feud between the two. At one point, a match between the two brothers was set for WrestleMania XXX, but that was called off. Goldust is expected to remain an active roster member through “SummerSlam,” then work in a backstage role.

The 45-year-old made his return to WWE television last fall, and he and his brothers defeated The Shield with their contracts on the line at “Battleground.” He is likely to portray the babyface in the feud.

Insanely huge missed opportunity here by WWE. The former Tag Team Champions were red hot, and were perfectly set up for a feud that would have culminated at WrestleMania. Instead, it seems like we will barely get a payoff between the two, and it will barely be remembered.
