According to PWInsider.com, there is a possibility that Kane may take some time off from wrestling following his match with Daniel Bryan at WWE “Payback” in June.

As reported here on Wrestling Rumors, WWE has been considering a Buried Alive match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship for the special event in Chicago. The match has been used as a way to write characters off television for a period of time in the past, and it appears may be used in the same light this time around as well.

Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, took time off at the end of 2013 to film See No Evil 2. His character, Jacob Goodnight, does not wear the Kane mask in the movie, and WWE wanted him on-screen reflecting that image when he returned. He may now be written off to do promotional material for the movie, which is expected to be released some time around October.

Since putting the mask back on, Kane has had little affiliation with The Authority, though Stephanie McMahon has been lurking around in the background of his storyline with Bryan.

Editor’s Note:

Can’t say I’m all that surprised if this is the route they end up going. I figured he would be taking some more time off, and at 47, he is more than entitled to it. Especially since he’s in the best shape of his life.
