After a week-long campaign on social-media, Fandango’s entrance theme has failed to enter the official UK Top 40.

The track, titled ‘ChaChaLaLa’, missed out on a top 40 place by just 239 copies, and entered the chart at number 44.

The campaign started after fans in New Jersey began singing and dancing to the track during last week’s edition of Monday Night Raw. Since then, the track has rocketed up various download charts, reaching as high as number eleven on the UK iTunes chart. At one stage, the track was higher in the charts than tracks from artists such as One Direction, Justin Beiber, The Script and Adele.

The campaign appears to have been started by the people behind the popular ‘Wrestling Memes’ Facebook and Twitter pages, with fans using the hashtag #FandangoRevolution on the social media site. The Sun, one of the UK’s biggest selling national newspapers picked up on the campaign, encouraging it’s readers to back the campaign. The track’s success was acknowledged by WWE themselves, who featured an article on the campaign on WWE.com.
