“Mr. Money in the Bank” Seth Rollins has been regularly facing John Cena in WWE’s most recent house show tours. The two have been giving lengthy main event street fights, with overwhelming crowd response.
However, Rollins couldn’t make the WWE Live event in Hidalgo, Texas this past weekend, as he noted travel difficulties as the cause:
Apologies to the fans in Hidalgo, TX tonight. Travel circumstances outside my control caused me to miss the show. Really bums me out.

Instead, Rollins was replaced by what may be a surprising choice to many fans. Bad News Barrett was given the nod to face Cena in the main event at the show, again competing in a street fight. It was the first time Barrett had main-evented alongside Cena since the beginning of 2011, when the two were caught in a lengthy feud as Barrett’s days as leader of The Nexus drew to a close.
Barrett made his televised in-ring return on last week’s edition of “Monday Night Raw,” defeating Cesaro. What was interesting of not was Barrett seemingly was portrayed as a face in the match, as Cesaro cut a heel promo just prior.
There has been speculation WWE had plans last year for Barrett that were untimely cut short after he suffered a shoulder injury that kept him out of action for months. The 34-year-old had just won the Intercontinental Championship at the time.
Editor’s Note
Make no mistake about it, this is a very good sign for Barrett. Hope it leads to more high-profile stuff.
