Recent reports suggest that WWE management may have already “tired” of their new character, Fandango, played by former NXT Superstar Johnny Curtis. For months WWE aired vignettes featuring the wrestler/dancer teasing his eventual debut, leading up to his advertised first match against Zack Ryder on the March 1st edition of Friday Night Smackdown. Fandango would refuse to compete after WWE interviewer Matt Striker failed to say his name correctly – he would pull the same stunt on Raw the following week, refusing to face Kofi Kingston in singles competition.

The feeling with backstage sources is that the WWE Creative team has been biding time with Fandango, and that their stalling may be a way to tweak his character, or scrap the angle completely.
