Something we tend to forget in all our speculation about future champions and number one contenders is the belt itself. A fancy belt completes the look of a champion, and adds to the prestige of the honor.
While WWE last new single’s title–the Universal Championship–was an object of such derision that it derailed an otherwise excellent inaugural match between Seth Rollins and Finn Balor at SummerSlam, WWE seems to have taken the criticism to heart when it comes to their latest title.
WWE’s first UK Tournament will take place this weekend, and will crown the first ever WWE UK Champion. The new belt was unveiled in physical form on BBC show Blue Peter earlier today.

The tournament will air live on the WWE Network this weekend. The first round will take place on Saturday and the final round, which will crown the new champ, will happen on Sunday. Both shows are scheduled for two hour slots on the WWE Network, and start at 3PM Eastern.
Given how good the CWC was, we’re excited to see how the UK Tournament turns out, especially as it sets a precedent for similar future shows. That includes the often-rumored and much-delayed Women’s Tournament. If you need a preview before this weekend’s show, check out the full profile of all the UK Tournament competitors.
