Impact Wrestling currently airs on Pop TV in the US, and that’s not exactly the hottest network on this country’s cable line-up. Luckily for wrestling fans, TNA just announced a new TV deal–in the UK, that is.

A press release from TNA today announced that Impact will be getting a European broadcast on Spike UK. That will see the weekly show broadcast throughout the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland.

Ed Nordholm, Anthem’s Executive Vice President said that “Since our acquisition of IMPACT Wrestling, growing the brand in the UK has been one of our most important initiatives. We are thrilled to be partnering with Spike UK to fill this important spot in their programme schedule and look forward to rebuilding our presence in the UK market. As one of the hottest wrestling scenes in the world right now, we look forward to taking an active role in the market, both on television and with live events.”

It will be interesting to see how committed Impact is to growing in the UK, as it’s a major wrestling market without a major home promotion on television. ITV’s World of Sport revival has hit a snag with the realization that they aren’t equipped to put together a weekly program, and WWE has been slow to make any follow-up on their UK tournament.

IMPACT Wrestling NEW U.K. Television Home | IMPACT on Spike UK

Impact will begin its new broadcast on April 21st. This follows a flurry of a talent departures and creative changes.
