We’re halfway to Hell in a Cell, and the big matches are booked. Seth Rollins takes on Kevin Owens for the Universal Championship. Charlotte gets a rematch against Sasha Banks for the Raw Women’s Championship. Rusev gets a rematch with Roman Reigns for the United States Championship inside Hell in a Cell.
A trio of rematches headlining a pay-per-view isn’t the most exciting thing in the world, and with two more episodes of Raw to go before the Hell in a Cell, I’m not certain we’ll see an especially interesting edition of the show tonight. But hey, maybe I’m wrong! Maybe it’ll be a great one!
Find out what’s coming up below, and tune into the USA Network at 8 PM Eastern/7 PM Central to see for yourself as Raw broadcasts from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, CA. Don’t miss our live coverage of the show if you can’t make it to your TV.
The new women’s champion prepares for one last showdown
Sasha Banks won the Raw Women’s Championship in an excellent main event last week, and her long rivalry with former champion Charlotte comes to a head at Hell in a Cell. The feud should settle there, and we’re still holding out hope that their scheduled singles match will take place in the titular structure, offering a fitting cap to Charlotte’s long-standing position as the top woman in WWE.
Can Seth get the better of Owens?
Seth Rollins is slowly turning face as he defies Stephanie and Triple H in his quest to claim the Universal Title from golden boy Kevin Owens. Owens’ new partnership with Jericho has been the best part of Raw these past few weeks, and you can look to see more of it as the champion defends himself from Rollins’ assaults.
Roman and Rusev prepare for Hell
That United States Championship looks real good on Roman Reigns, who desperately needed some time away from the main event. I maintain that he’s been the bad guy throughout his contest with poor, innocent Rusev, and the pair will settle their dispute inside Hell in a Cell. Roman’s victory is a foregone conclusion, but how will the pair challenge each other heading into that matchup?
Braun Strowman is still looking for “real” competition
Braun Strowman has been crushing local competition for weeks, and finally has called on management to offer him a real challenge. Does he get that tonight? I say there’s about an equal chance of Sin Cara or Goldberg being the opponent tonight. (It won’t be Goldberg.)
When will Brian Kendrick get his title rematch?
Brian Kendrick was scheduled to take on TJ Perkins in a title match for the Cruiserweight Championship last week, but a last minute switch took the title off the line. Then Kendrick beat Perkins, setting him up for a title opportunity in the near future. The stretch as we head to the pay-per-view is strongly felt. The CWC was an excellent series, and I continue to hope they can build more compelling stories for the Cruiserweight Division on Raw.
