“It ain’t ballet,” or so they say. Though–shocker–pro wrestling is scripted, that doesn’t mean ugly injuries don’t occur, and an especially ugly one meant a series of stitches for Sheamus last night.
It seems Sheamus got busted open when Enzo Amore tossed a ladder at him during last night’s Philly brawl between the Raw tag teams competing at WrestleMania. The result is fifteen stitches for the Celtic Warrior, but no lasting damage.
Sure is an ugly one, though.
That segment was built to add an additional stipulation to Sunday’s match. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson will now be defending the Raw Tag Team Championship against Sheamus & Cesaro and Enzo Amore & Big Cass in a ladder match.

Walking under a ladder is bad luck. Turns out, running into one aint so lucky either… 16 stitches & my own personal logo for #Mania. pic.twitter.com/HSDFIqDabi

I never would’ve pegged Sheamus as the lost would-be ECW star, but here we are. If that’s not enough gross-out action for you, enjoy the video below of Sheamus getting stitched up.
I might ordinarily make a comment here about how unfortunate even a minor injury right before WrestleMania would be. But Sheamus is fine, and you know what? Some blood is the perfect publicity for Sunday’s ladder match.
