WWE promised a big update on Seth Rollins’ status last night, and they didn’t really follow through on that promise. Instead, they just broadcast Seth’s tweet about being injured and offered no meaningful information.
After what seemed to be a freak injury sustained during Samoa Joe’s debut, Seth was to be out six-to-eight weeks, leaving his status for WrestleMania totally up in the air. That also meant we weren’t sure who would face Triple H at Mania if the diagnosis came back bad.
But according to a backstage report from Dave Meltzer on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio, it seems that WWE is confident in Seth’s timely return.
“Seth is considered good for WrestleMania,” Meltzer said. “So Triple H and Seth is on. That’s what they’re working towards, and maybe that’s why they didn’t tip their hand. They are going with the idea that that match is still on, and that he will be ready for WrestleMania.”
That’s very good news for WWE, as they’ve been promoting this match longer than almost any other WrestleMania contest. We still still don’t know what the direction for Samoa Joe is right now though, as we would have expected him to face off against Seth at Fastlane.
