We last saw Goldberg on Monday Night Raw to announce his participation in the 2017 Royal Rumble. This followed his decisive defeat of Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, where the WCW star made a return in style, beating the Beast in under two minutes. Lesnar may have been last, but Goldberg promises that “everyone’s next.” It’s doubtful that WWE would keep the big man off TV until the Rumble, so when can we expect to see him again?

The Amalie Arena in Tampa, Florida is advertising Goldberg for the January 2nd edition of Monday Night Raw. It looks like Goldberg will be ringing in the new year in style with WWE.

Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will be the headline competitors at the Royal Rumble, and are the first two to have announced their participation in the titular 30-man battle royal. The Rumble is expected to feature stars from both Raw and SmackDown, with 15 men from each brand competing for a shot at their show’s title in the main event of WrestleMania. That’s the historical format of brand-split Rumbles, but those precedents can always change.

The expectation for the match is that Goldberg and Lesnar will prevent one another from winning the match, with their hot rivalry taking both men out of the equation. The final chapter in their feud, then, would take place at WrestleMania.
