We’re less than two weeks away from WrestleMania 33. Most of the card is in place, and minus a few potential last minute changes, it seems that things are pretty much set.

Of course, that means that people are already betting on the outcomes. How do you bet on something that’s scripted? Well, people have bet on the outcomes of soap operas and prime-time dramas for ages, so the fact that similar things have happened in pro wrestling shouldn’t be surprising. The interesting part is when the smart money comes in. That’s inside knowledge from backstage sources that influences the betting patterns, and often spoils the results.

We’ve already seen some of the early odds for WrestleMania matches. But what about things besides matches? Things like, say, marriage proposals?

Fans are still speculating about whether John Cena will pop the question after his mixed tag match alongside Nikki Bella, and it seems the bookies are willing to take that bet. Gambling site Paddy Power is now providing odds on a romantic wrestling moment.

Those odds are pretty favorable, too. The proposal is currently given 2/9 odds, or roughly an 82% chance of happening.

If that does pan out, it certainly explains why Cena would be in mixed tag action rather than a much bigger match at WWE’s biggest event.
