WWE.com has posted a new article in which the WWE teases Rey Mysetrio’s return at SummerSlam in August. As we previously reported, Mysterio sent out a tweet recently that indicated he planned on being able to compete at the annual August Pay-Per-View, but that he would have to be medically cleared to do so. WWE.com’s article played off of that recent tweet, but that the jury was still out concerning whether or not Mysterio would actually be able to make the show. The article also notes that Mysterio made his WWE debut at SummerSlam 11 years ago.
Mysterio has been out for almost 4 months rehabbing a knee injury suffered at the hands of Mark Henry. Mysterio had just returned from a previous injury in March when he encountered this latest issue with his knee. Mysterio has required multiple surgeries to repair the damage that has been done in both of his knees over the years, and it seems to only be happening more frequently. As Mysterio and the WWE have both reported, the presence of “Mr. 619” at SummerSlam is something that everyone will have to see to believe. You can read the WWE.com article here, and WrestlingRumors.net continues to wish Mysterio a full and speedy recovery.
