New reports claim that WWE may replace “Live! Stone Cold Podcast” with a Roddy Piper special on Aug. 3, although this has not yet been confirmed. Piper passed away in his home on July 30 due to a cardiac arrest. He was 61 years old.
However, Paige may not have been the originally scheduled guest. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter recently claimed that WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan may have been the man that was supposed to appear on the program, but due to the termination of his contract with WWE, he was replaced with the former WWE Divas Champion (who was also Hogan’s former-fellow WWE “Tough Enough” judge).
WWE is planning to dedicate “RAW” to Piper, and much like when “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes passed away in June, the company is expected to air a WWE Network special on “Hot Rod” soon, possibly on Aug. 3. WrestlingRumors.net will continue to update this story as more details emerge.
Editor’s Note:
I wonder what they think will bring the Network more eyes. Austin, or a memorial to Piper. It’s likely that they may just move Austin’s podcast, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
