According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may hold a Live Event on a beach for a WWE Network special soon. The event would air exclusively on the WWE Network, much like the house show from Tokyo, Japan, “Beast in the East,” did on July 4.
Dave Meltzer of the famed Wrestling Observer and F4Wonline.com reveals that discussions are being held about the possibility of doing a WWE Live Event on the sand somewhere soon. He writes,
The annual “WCW Bash at the Beach” Pay-Per-View was a staple for World Championship Wrestling from 1994, until they were purchased by Vince McMahon’s WWE in 2001. The second edition of “Bash at the Beach” was held on Huntington Beach, and saw bouts like Ric Flair vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Vader vs. Hulk Hogan in a Steel Cage Match, Sting vs. Meng in a United States Championship Match, and more.
WWE wants to broadcast more WWE Live Events as WWE Network specials, which leads many to believe that the upcoming Live Event to be held in Madison Square Garden on Oct. 3 may stream on the network. Brock Lesnar, much like the event from Tokyo, Japan on July 4, is being advertised for the show, and WWE likes to get their money’s worth when booking The Beast Incarnate.
Editor’s Note:
That would definitely be different. I wonder if WWE would use the “Bash at the Beach” title for it, or not.
