According to a new report from F4Wonline.com, WWE has told its distributors to begin “heavy production” of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin merchandise, adding more fuel to the rumors of a potential return for the Texas Rattlesnake.

As previously reported, Austin is rumored to be returning to the company in some way, shape, or form in the near future. A possible match for Austin has even been discussed, according to reports.

Although Austin has taken to Twitter to try and abolish these recent rumors, even the Rattlesnake himself said recently that he would like to take a shot at WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar in the ring. He has also revealed that he is currently training harder now than he was several months ago, which has led to further speculation about a possible return.

The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter alludes to this sort of merchandise push usually meaning a return or special appearance. As previously mentioned in the newsletter, they touched on the fact that WWE has promoted Austin’s podcast “The Steve Austin Show,” which they have never done for other superstars with personal programs like that. Chris Jericho and WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross both have popular podcasts, and WWE has yet to promote either program.

According to reports, WWE has banned their superstars from appearing on Ross’ podcast, while only allowing some to appear on Austin’s. Jericho, who just finished up his most recent run with the company on Sept. 21 at “Night Of Champions,” gets the most current superstars to appear on his show, including executives such as Triple H, who was a guest on his show very recently.

Editor’s Note:
Looks like SOMETHING including Austin is coming. Can I get a “hell yeah?”
