A suspicious white powder caused a scare at the WWE’s corporate headquarters on Wednesday, July 2. Police responded to a threat at the WWE Headquarters in Stamford, Conn. and cleared the building of any foreseeable danger. However, Stamford Police have yet to provide full details on the situation.
The Stamford Advocate reports that the treat came in the form of a suspicious package, and the report was issued at 6:27 p.m.ET. Tara Carraro, a spokesperson from WWE, told the publication,
“WWE received a suspicious package at its headquarters today and contacted local law enforcement to investigate. All WWE personnel are safe, and business is being conducted as usual.”
WWE Headquarters is located on 1241 East Main St. in Stamford. It houses corporate staff, sales divisions, and other corporate divisions of the of juggernaut of entertainment that is WWE. World Wrestling Entertainment is responsible for film, TV, music, and over-the-top network content that is enjoyed by millions of people around the world.
“Anthrax scares” such as this one began to be common place in America circa 2001, just after the tragic events of 9/11. Again, everyone at WWE Headquarters is said to be completely fine.
