Vince McMahon may not appear as a character on TV for some time. The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter claims that McMahon will not be featured on WWE programming anytime soon, outside of tributes or documentaries.

The report claims that this is why Stephanie McMahon is now being billed as the “Principal Owner of the WWE,” instead of, “One of the principal owners of the WWE,” like she was referred to on television before. Apparently, WWE officials changed Stephanie’s introduction because they want her to be perceived on WWE TV as the owner of the company, as far as on-air storylines are concerned.

Stephanie was being referred to as “one of the principal owners” back before WrestleMania XXX. This was so that a power-struggle angle could be worked out between The Authority and Vince McMahon, where Vince would return as the “end-all-be-all” force of power in WWE, but plans fell through and McMahon was removed from the storylines. Now, they’re not even planning on running with Vince on WWE TV again, at least for the time being, he’ll just be backstage.

Editor’s Note:
Mr. McMahon died in 2007. Does no one else remember that? We’ve seen the ghost of McMahon ever since.
