The latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has provided an update on why Spike TV is dropping TNA “IMPACT WRESTLING.” As previously reported, TNA is currently shopping for a new network to broadcast their flagship television program, as Spike TV will only remain their home until January of 2015.

While TNA is making offers to a number of different networks, none have seemingly jumped at the opportunity to house the company’s weekly show. According to the report, most networks are leerily on whether or not they want to pick up a program that Spike TV is dropping. Apparently there is a negative scent attached to the company due to the fact that Spike TV is dropping a show that had decent ratings and an average between 1-1.4 million viewers each week.

Most networks are asking questions to Spike TV about their actual reasons for cutting ties with TNA Wrestling, and the report gives an idea of what Spike’s response has been. Apparently, Spike TV is letting TNA’s program slip through their fingers due to their lack of confidence in the company owners and leadership. They believe TNA’s front office cannot and will not succeed at growing the company, and they no longer want to hassle of dealing with them.

Viewership numbers and ratings have been declining regularly as of late as well, which hasn’t helped the relationship between Spike TV and TNA. It’s rumored that the outing of Vince Russo’s former role as a consultant in TNA also made an impact on Spike TV’s decision to separate itself from TNA Wrestling, although the network denies this rumor publicly. However, Russo’s employment with the struggling wrestling association had to be kept secret due to the network’s disdain for him.

Editor’s Note:
Where, oh, where is TNA going to go? (Poor Russo. He was a part of another sinking ship at the time of it’s decent into the water, and he’ll likely get #BlameRusso thrown in his face forever because of all this)
