F4Wonline.com has provided an update on Rob Van Dam’s WWE status. According to the site, a WWE representative has stated that, “Rob Van Dam is currently not under a performance contract with WWE.”

Van Dam’s status has been in question since he was last seen on WWE programming at the inaugural WWE Battleground PPV. He was viciously attacked by World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio after his had already lost the match. Many reports, including ones that we previously reported, questioned Van Dam’s contract status, as many different stories regarding his employment with the company were conflicting.

Some reports said that Van Dam was working a “ninety-day-on, ninety-day-off” schedule, where could come and go in a part-time capacity. Others claimed that Van Dam merely opted not to sign a contract extension following his initial ninety-day deal. According to this report, it seems as if the latter holds more stock at the moment.
