WrestlingRumors.net has been given an insider update on Kane’s WWE status and when he is slated to return. As previously reported, “The Big Red Machine” was “injured” at the hands of Brock Lesnar during a recent edition of “Monday Night Raw.”
During the final segment of the July 13 edition of “RAW,” which was a contract signing between Lesnar and WWE World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins for their match at WWE “Battleground” on July 19, Kane tried to best Lesnar, resulting in Lesnar F-5’ing the Big Red Machine, then slamming Kane’s ankle with the steel ring steps.
Lesnar had previously injured (both actually and in storyline) Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury, leaving Kane as the only member of The Authority that was able to try and help protect Rollins. Kane told Rollins that he had a plan for the final segment, and that if it didn’t work, it wouldn’t be good for one, or both of them.
After Lesnar attacked Kane’s ankle, Rollins then told Kane he no longer need him and that he was a worthless piece of crap, kicking him in his injured area. With that being the exclamation point of the severing of ties between Rollins and The Big Red Machine, Kane was put on the “out-of-action indefinitely” list.
This angle was done to remove all other members of The Authority from Rollins’ side, forcing him to face Lesnar alone at “Battleground” on July 19. Rollins would retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship thanks to interference from The Undertaker, however.
Kane, real name Glenn Jacobs, has his return labeled “out-of-action indefinitely” because he was supposed to be off WWE TV for the rest of the Summer. Jacobs was originally not scheduled to return until WWE began pressing into the Fall.
However, WWE has already made calls to the veteran, asking if he can return to work. While details surrounding his return, such as when, where, and why have yet to be revealed, Kane is likely being called back to work due to other superstars being injured.
Our source claims Kane is always on call to help come back and fill in for injured superstars, and with United States Champion John Cena possibly missing several weeks of WWE television in order to recover from surgery on his nasal fracture that he suffered during the July 27 edition of “RAW,” The Big Red Machine may be receiving calls to come back and work an angle with Rollins, stemming from the WWE World Heavyweight Champions actions against the Director of Operations on July 13.
WrestlingRumors.net will keep updating this story as more details become available.
Editor’s Note:
Kane may be back sooner than expected. Is it possible that Cena competes at “SummerSlam” no matter what, then has reconstructive surgery and sits out for a few months while Kane feuds with the champ? We’ll just have to wait and see.
