The latest edition of “Wrestling Observer Radio” has provided an update on how long Kevin Owens will be out of action in NXT. As previously reported, Owens underwent knee surgery recently and will not be able to compete for some time.
WWE.com broke the news about Owens’ surgery on March 16, saying the following,
“NXT Champion Kevin Owens underwent a partial meniscectomy for a knee injury late last week, WWE.com has learned.”
Owens himself then went on to comment on how this injury will affect his run as NXT Champion or in-ring style, saying,
“I’m not the kind of person that lets things like this get in my way. I’m already walking around without crutches and doing physical therapy at the WWE Performance Center. Now that I’m at the level I am now, and with as much at stake as there is, I don’t think it’s going to slow me down. I’m on the way back.”
Dave Meltzer of “Wrestling Observer Radio” claims that Owens will likely only be out of the ring for four-to-six weeks. While this is a good thing, as far as “NXT” tapings is concerned, this means that the NXT Champion will not be able to compete during the NXT tapings and special in-ring matches during WrestleMania weekend in two weeks.
Editor’s Note:
Welp, sucks for people that wanted to watch him compete in Santa Clara, but at least this isn’t a major amount of time for Owens to be off of “NXT” programming. WrestlingRumors.net wishes Owens a speedy and full recovery.
