The United States Championship Match is set for “Extreme Rules” on April 26. John Cena will defend his US Title against the man he won the strap from on March 29 at WrestleMania 31, Rusev.
The match was confirmed during the March 31 tapings for “Smackdown,” which can be seen when the episode of the program airs on SyFy on April 2. Cena will defend Rusev in a rematch for the United States Championship at “Extreme Rules.”
The stipulation for the match has not been confirmed at this time, but seeing as though the PPV is “Extreme Rules,” a “gimmick” match is expected. Many have speculated on an “I Quit” or a “Last Man Standing” Match would be the most fitting for the two, but nothing has been confirmed at this time.
As of April 1, only two matches are confirmed for the “Extreme Rules” PPV. John Cena vs. Rusev for the United States Championship, and Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Both matches will be announced during the April 2 edition of “Smackdown.”
Editor’s Note:
I was pleased with their last showdown at WrestleMania. This one should be just as good, if not better given the drama of a stipulation.
