In a recent telephone conversation with “Chair Shot Reality” host and wrestling personality Justin LaBar, WWE Executive Vice President (Talent/Live Events/Creative) Triple H reveals his desire to have NXT on the road three days a week, just like the main roster’s schedule. While WWE films two television shows weekly on Monday and Tuesday, they are usually holding WWE Live Events on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
NXT recently ventured out into touring in select cities outside of Orlando, Florida. As previously reported, “NXT’s Road Trip” tour will continue through the Summer, stopping at select cities in the United States along the way.
The promotion kicked off their Live Event tour with a two-night stint in Philadelphia on May 14 and 15, selling out the first show and almost selling out the second night. NXT then went on to perform in Albany, New York on May 16, almost selling out that event as well.
Triple H told LaBar that he wants to take NXT on the road in a parallel schedule to WWE’s main roster. He said that the talent can learn how to perform well in the WWE Performance Center all day, but they need to be competing in front of different live crowds in order to take their skills to another level.
His plan is to run “A” and “B” tours. “A” tours will consist of the stars of the “NXT” WWE Network program, while the “B” tours will feature stars that are just starting out and aren’t on “NXT” TV just yet.
New cities and venues/arenas are being evaluated for NXT Live Events, and when Triple H and company make their decision on when and where these tours will go, the WWE Universe will know.
Editor’s Note:
I hope they come to South Carolina/Georgia/North Carolina. I’m in Greenville, SC…and I would be there in a heartbeat, without question. Also, if Bull Dempsey or Baron Corbin need a jobber to squash…I’ll take/sell bumps like a champ!
