WWE Divas Championship Match Possibly Taking Place on “RAW”

A WWE Divas Championship Match is being teased for the May 18 edition of “Monday Night Raw.” As seen on the WWE Network, Naomi and Tamina Snuka bested The Bella Twins at WWE “Payback,” but Naomi would go on to challenge Nikki Bella to a Divas title match backstage in a WWE.com segment.

WWE.com is also teasing that the Divas Championship bout between Bella and Naomi may happen during the May 18 edition of “RAW,” saying the following in their weekly “Five-Point Preview” piece for the program. WWE says,

“Is it the shoes? Well, as we saw at WWE Payback, Naomi’s recent run of successes has little to do with her light-up kicks. In the night’s Divas Tag Team Match, Naomi & Tamina dominated Nikki & Brie Bella, with Naomi sealing the win with a pinfall over Divas Champion Nikki Bella.

After that impressive show of force, Naomi has no doubt brought herself closer to another Divas Championship opportunity, going so far as to throw down the gauntlet in a WWE.com interview after her WWE Payback victory. Is Nikki up to the challenge?”

Paige, who won the No. 1 Contender spot for the Divas Championship before being attacked by Naomi four weeks ago, is set to return to WWE programming during the May 18 edition of “RAW.” If so, she may make her presence felt during this match, since she is the actual No. 1 Contender, not Naomi.

Paige and The Miz have been away filming WWE Studios’ movie, “Santa’s Little Helper.” Paige made her return to WWE Live Events on May 16, and is expected to return to television broadcasts immediately. The Miz is set to return with WWE Creative comes up with a program for him to work, as right now they are uncertain on how to bring him back into the mix.
