In a recent edition of “The Steve Austin Show,” “Stone Cold” Steve Austin claims the chances he’ll be at WrestleMania 31 are “slim to none.” Austin recently revealed that he was preparing for a “comeback,” which many believed meant the Texas Rattlesnake was looking to step back inside the squared circle, possibly at WrestleMania. However, Austin goes on to reveal in the latest edition of his podcast just what he meant by “comeback.”

During the episode, Austin addresses rumors of his return to the ring. He also discusses how his use of “comeback” was taken out of context. Austin claims that his “comeback” was inferring that he was “coming back” to work out at Gold’s Gym, as he desires to train and get into “better shape” since he has upcoming “projects” in the works.

The WWE Hall of Famer also claims that he has no desire to get back in the ring and take bumps. He claims his schedule is much too hectic for him to have the time needed to train for an in-ring return, and that one of his upcoming projects will keep him away from possibly even appearing at WrestleMania 31. Although he would not go into much detail regarding most of his upcoming “projects,” Austin did allude to one taking place in February, which would make the odds of him appearing or working a match on March 29 “slim to none.”

Some believe Austin is merely trying to throw “smart” wrestling fans off the scent of his upcoming return, while others believe outright that Austin will never wrestle again. WWE has been working with Austin in some manner behind-the-scenes in recent weeks, however.

WWE has ordered a surplus of Austin merchandise to be created for the Winter/Spring (Road to WrestleMania) season, and have started promoting Austin’s podcast regularly on WWE television. While other WWE affiliated stars have podcasts, Austin’s is the only one that has been promoted weekly on WWE television, which is a notable flag for many folks in the business that Austin and WWE are working together in some way, shape, or form.

Editor’s Note:
Hmmmm…do I believe Austin…or not? That is the question. Wendy’s commercials only take like a DAY to shoot, anyway.
